Hi.  I'm Mike Palecek, owner of spedsw.com.  For the last 30 years, I have helped schools integrate technology into their classrooms, with a particular interest in special education and early learning.  Touch screens are a very exciting technology, because I have seen first hand how much they impacts student learning.  At schools, I've demonstrated touch screen systems like The Adapter, and teachers have asked me to demonstrate the products I sell by letting their special needs students use them.

The teachers want to know if these tools really make an impact.  In many cases, teachers have been surprised and delighted with the results, saying "that student attends for no more than 30 seconds at anything, and here they have attended for five minutes!!"

In another school that I assisted, the vision specialist told me, "Because my husband is an opthalmologist, we've been able to test all of the moderate and severe special needs students in our school.  We discovered that over two-thirds of them have significant vision impairment.  Your medium sized touch screens, used close-up, have been a tremendous game-changer for our students.  Many of them can see the computer screen much better and are therefore much more engaged in learning!"
